"Mon désir d'être bien informé se heurte en ce moment à mon désir de rester sain d'esprit!" David Sipress graduated from Williams College in 1968 and attended a master’s program in Soviet studies at Harvard. Since pursuing a career as a cartoonist, he has found a wide audience. Sipress has illustrated several books, including The Little Stuff Matters Most, by Bernie Brillstein, and Your Cat’s Just Not That into You, by Richard Smith. The author of eight books of cartoons, he is also writer, producer, and host of Conversations with Cartoonists, a series staged at Dixon Place Theater, and at the Ninety-second Street Y. He lives in Brooklyn with his wife. David Sipress’s first cartoon appeared in The New Yorker in 1998, and he was newyorker.com’s first Daily Cartoonist, during the 2012 Presidential election. His work has also appeared in the Boston Phoenix, Time, Parade, Playboy, Funny Times, the Washington Post, Harper’s, Gastronomica, and Shambhala Sun.
